I like the look of my bottle and that it's stainless steel.

I haven't used my water bottle much yet but so far so good. It was easy to get going and it's nice to be able to fill up my bottle from the sink and not worry about fluoride and chemicals, lead, pesticides etc. being in my water.

Peace of mind in traveling

It is high quality, was easy to soak and assemble. Holds decent amount of water --has a little extra height to make the full 20 oz. It fits in my cupholder and has a nice smooth finish. It didn't sweat. I took it on a trip to my country parents house. They have well water but are surrounded by farmland so I felt good with my filtered bottle. I drink more water. The suction is as said, it is just a little more to bring the water up through the filter. It isn't a big deal. I like the taste from the pitcher better. I think it is because you can run a few pitchers through the filter before use. I think that difference will subside after a few more bottles. There is no way to run a few bottles of water through a straw of course. I am trusting the quality. I use the pitcher water poured into my own bottles for daily work etc...but this I will use to travel this summer and as long as it is empty it should go through air port security and then I can use it the rest of my trip. I like it. It gives me peace of mind and I drink more on my trips. My grandkids are getting them for school as their schools pipes are not the best and they have been using a water cooler type system which can get moldy if not routinely cleaned. Would recommend. Go with a nice color...live! I got the pink it is nice and subtle. I will do bold next time :)

Issue resolved

At first was disappointed thought new design was bad. After further investigation just had a defective straw. I reached out to customer support they shipped a new straw ASAP. Now my bottle works great thanks for great customer service

Stainless steel makes the difference

I deliver the Green Mountain Trading Post around the state of Vermont one day every other week. The "other" plastic filter bottle builds pressure and leaks out the top vent hole when changing elevation: down by the river up, up to the quarries. It soaks the cup holder. This stainless steel bottle does not have that problem! Thank you! And I fill up again at the road side spring north of Randolph.

How long will the filter last?
The bottle filter lasts up to 25 gallons or 6 months (whichever comes first). This number may vary depending on how often it is used and the amount of contaminants in the water. Generally speaking, 25 gallons is about 160 fills in this bottle. This means if you fill up twice a day, you’ll need to replace your filter about every 2-3 months. Only fill up once a day? Replace every 4-5 months.
How do I clean the water bottle? Is it dishwasher safe?
Hand-wash the bottle, straw, and mouthpiece with warm, soapy water and air dry with the lid off. Do not wash the filter. Never use on a stove or in a microwave, dishwasher, or freezer.
Which contaminants does the water bottle filter? (e.g., Fluoride, Lead, Chlorine)
Our filtration technology targets over 220 contaminants. We use an independent, EPA-certified lab to rigorously test our filters to all applicable NSF standards. Here are just a few of the more notorious contaminants this filter targets:
  • Fluoride: removed at a rate of 99.5%. It is difficult to remove once it’s added into the tap water and typical carbon-block style filters don’t have fluoride removal capabilities. For that reason we specially formulated our technology so fluoride removal is standard with every filter.
  • Glyphosate: The active ingredient in Roundup® weed killer. Our filters remove >99.9% of this highly controversial chemical.
  • Lead: Even though it’s been widely banned due to its highly poisonous nature, lead pipes remain in use across all 50 states. Lead is harmful to human health even at low exposure levels and accumulates in the body over time. Removed at a rate of >99.3%.
  • Chlorine: While chlorine is effective at reducing the spread of infectious waterborne diseases, it reacts with naturally-occurring materials in water to form dangerous chemical byproducts that threaten your health. Removed at a rate of >99.5%.

Is it hard to drink water through the straw?
The filter contains a dense block of filtration material. As you draw water up through the straw the filter will cause some restriction in the flow of water, but it should feel similar to drinking a thick milkshake.
Can you put both hot and cold water in the bottle? What about ice?
We recommend only using cold water with this bottle and you can also safely add ice. Hot water, fruit, and other liquids are not compatible with the filter and not recommended.
